One of Ohio State’s top targets for the class of 2022 recently became available.

He may still be young, but quarterback Quinn Ewers has the kind of recruiting profile fans and coaches alike drool over. Ewers is rated as a five-star quarterback and the No. 1 pro-style quarterback nationally for the 2022 class by the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.

Some lists have Ewers rated as the No. 1 prospect nationally for 2022 though the 247 Composite has him No. 2 nationally to DT Walter Nolen. Either way, Ewers has a long list of potential suitors interested in his services.

Until Wednesday, Ewers had been committed to the Texas Longhorns, a decision he made in August. That changed when he announced his decommitment on Twitter:

Though nothing is settled at this point, Ewers’ decision has opened speculation that he is considering Ohio State as his destination for college. The Buckeyes are just one of many Power 5 programs to extend an offer to Ewers, but his interest in Ohio State has been moved to “Warm” on 247 Sports. It is no secret that landing a commitment from Ewers would be a massive win for Ryan Day and his staff for the future.
