Unfortunately, Williams’ catch ended in injury. The star receiver remained on the field until trainers arrived and then left the game. He was walking on his own power but headed back to the locker room.
Alabama ended the drive with another field goal to take a 6-3 lead.

Williams was the SEC’s leading receiver this year, totaling 1,507 yards and 15 touchdowns on 75 receptions for the Crimson Tide. He averaged more than 20 yards per catch for Alabama in 2021.
Williams is also a former Buckeye, transferring out of Ohio State after the 2020 season.
Less than 18 minutes into the game, Alabama’s top receiver was already making a huge impact before his exit. He caught 4 passes for 65 yards before sustaining the injury.
