It’s national title or bust for Ohio State according to former Buckeyes great Archie Griffin.

Well, that shouldn’t come as a surprise from the 2-time Heisman winner. Griffin, who starred at OSU before playing for the Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL, told Big Noon Kickoff Saturday that the Buckeyes are “going all the way” when asked to give a prediction for how their season plays out. He also asserted that Ohio State isn’t “playing for 2nd place.”

Check out his full reaction below:

And while Griffin was never going to say anything to the contrary, his prediction may very well come true. The Buckeyes are definitely among the best teams in football right now, sitting at 2-0 while outscoring their overmatched competition 108-6 so far this season. The Buckeyes have a nasty defense and a potential star under center in Kansas State transfer Will Howard.

For now the Buckeyes sit at No. 3 in the country, behind only Texas and Georgia. It’ll be a few weeks before the Buckeyes can prove their prowess, however, with a Week 4 matchup against Marshall on the docket for Saturday.

The Buckeyes’ first true test of the season comes in Week 5 when they travel to face Aidan Chiles and Michigan State in East Lansing.

Saturday’s game between the Buckeyes and Thundering Herd is set for Noon on FOX.
