We’ve got a serious conversation on our hands.

As Ohio State sealed a 27-21 win over Wisconsin in the B1G Championship Game, the Buckeyes are most certainly in the mix for the College Football Playoff. The debate will likely come down between the Buckeyes (11-2) and Alabama (11-1).

So which team should get the nod? Well, B1G commissioner Jim Delany offered his opinion on the matter. And you can probably guess which way he’s leaning.

“I feel we can make an argument that we’re the strongest conference,” Delany said in an interview with the Chicago Tribune. “We had the most FBS wins; we had the fewest FCS games. We challenged ourselves in every way. I think our efforts to play more conference games, to schedule up to a reasonable degree, to reduce the number of mismatches should serve us well.

“Another distinction is that Ohio State, if it wins, would have a championship. Conference championships are part of it.”

Delany isn’t wrong in his statements, but a 16-point loss to Oklahoma and a 31-point loss to Iowa are a smudge on the Playoff resume of the Buckeyes.

At the very least, it will make for an entertaining Sunday afternoon.
