Ohio State rested up over a Week 7 bye, and the Buckeyes were firing on all cylinders heading into the off week.
After a couple of sluggish performances early in the season, Ryan Day’s offense found its groove with a 4-game winning streak. In that streak, Ohio State scored 40+ points in every game and 50+ points in 3 straight. The Buckeyes even exploded with 66 points against Maryland.
Entering Week 8, Ohio State’s offense is among the best in the country in points per game. According to FOX College Football, the Buckeyes are 1 of just 4 FBS teams to average 45+ points.
Ohio State ranks second with 48.5 points per game behind Coastal Carolina’s 48.8 points per game. Pittsburgh (48.3) and Alabama (45.0) are the other 2 programs.

This weekend, Ohio State returns to action against Indiana. The Hoosiers have had a brutal schedule and some tough luck this season, but they remain a hungry and determined team under Tom Allen.
Saturday’s kickoff is set for 7:30 pm EST on ABC.
