Eli Apple wants to cover one of his old teammates in Sunday’s Super Bowl. The Cincinnati Bengals cornerback reportedly wants to match up with Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

The New York Giants used first-round NFL Draft picks on Beckham (2014) and Apple (2016). They were teammates in New York from 2016-to-2018.

Beckham was traded to the Cleveland Browns in March 2019. Beckham was waived by the Browns on Nov. 8, signing a one-year deal with the Rams on Nov. 11.

The Giants traded Apple, a former Ohio State standout, to the New Orleans Saints for draft picks during the 2018 season. Apple was a free agent in 2020. He signed a 3-year deal with the Carolina Panthers but only played in 2 games before he was released. He signed a one-year deal with the Bengals in March 2021.

This postseason, Apple has 12 tackles and 3 passes defended.
