Ohio State making the decision to suspend Urban Meyer three games was the headline of Wednesday night. But the head coach wasn’t the only one who will serve a suspension.

Athletic director Gene Smith will also serve a suspension, which spans from Aug. 31 through Sept. 16. Though that’s not an outrageous punishment, there was some question as to whether or not it would affect Smith’s status on the College Football Playoff selection committee.

Thursday morning, Nicole Auerbach of The Athletic reported that College Football Playoff Executive Director Bill Hancock updated the status of Smith’s role.

The status has not changed.
