Black stripe alerts: 2 more Ohio State freshmen shed black stripes in camp

Ohio State sent 2 black stripe alerts out of fall camp on Saturday. A pair of freshmen have officially become Buckeyes.

The first black stripe alert went out for first-year wide receiver Noah Rogers.

Rogers is the third wide receiver to shed his black stripe. Out of Rolesville (North Carolina), Rogers is listed as measuring 6-2, 201 pounds on the OSU roster.

During his recruitment, Rogers picked up scholarship offers from 25 schools, choosing Ohio State over Michigan, Alabama, Clemson and others. He was rated 4-stars, the No. 1 player in North Carolina, No. 8 wide receiver and No. 53 prospect overall for the Class of 2023 on the 247Sports Composite.

The second black stripe alert of the day went out to Kayden McDonald, a defensive lineman.

McDonald arrived in Columbus from Suwanee, Georgia. The former North Gwinnett standout measures 6-2, 319 pounds, per the OSU website.

As a prospect, McDonald was rated 4-stars, the No. 35 defensive lineman and No. 261 recruit overall in 2023 on the Composite. He chose Ohio State over Michigan, Clemson, Oklahoma, Florida and others.
