The brain of former Ohio State football player Zach Slagle will be tested for CTE following his suicide, according to a report from CantonRep.com.
Slagle was found dead of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the early hours of Thursday morning. After posting a devastating message to Facebook, police rushed to his home and broke down the door, but Slagle was already dead.
In the message he posted, Slagle urged that his brain be tested for the degenerative brain disease, using the hashtag “#checkforCTE.”

According to CantonRep.com, Slagle’s brain will be sent to Boston University’s CTE Center for examination.
Slagle was 31 years old and played football at Ohio State from 2006-2008.
