Ohio State still among best in latest AP poll
There’s a new No. 1.
For the first time all year, Ohio State is not No. 1 in the Associated Press poll. Clemson, which knocked off Florida State on Saturday, took the top spot.
The Buckeyes had plenty of B1G company in the Associated Press poll. Fo the first time this year, the B1G had the most teams of any conference in the top 25.
The B1G’s other only remaining unbeaten team, Iowa, climbed to No. 8. Michigan State, after it saw it’s perfect season end against Nebraska, dropped to No. 14 while Michigan moved up to No. 15. Northwestern and Wisconsin also got back into the top 25 after continuing their B1G winning streaks.
Ohio State earned a 28-14 victory on Saturday night playing without starting quarterback J.T. Barrett, who was suspended as a result of a drunk driving arrest. In his place, Cardale Jones kept his perfect record as a starter, despite the fact that the offense had its worst showing since the Northern Illinois game on Sept. 19.
The Buckeyes tied the NCAA record with 29 straight regular season conference wins. They can set a new mark if they take care of business at Illinois next Saturday.
