Ohio State may not be too fond of Michigan, but it doesn’t have a problem swiping some of the top talent out of the state.

Thursday morning, Ryan Day and his staff crossed state lines for their most recent addition, three-star athlete Cameron Martinez out of Muskegon. Per 247Sports, he’s one of the top 10 players from the state.

Martinez made his announcement on Independence Day, giving Ohio State’s staff and fans even more reason to celebrate. He tweeted out a brief post to announce his decision, saying “Committed…Happy 4th” along with a photo.

Several B1G programs showed interest in the 6-foot, 195-pound athlete. He received offers from 11 B1G programs, including Michigan, Michigan State, Penn State, Wisconsin and Iowa, among others. Major offers outside the conference came from Notre Dame, Florida State and Georgia Tech.

Martinez is ranked as the No. 8 player out of the state of Michigan, according to 247Sports. He cracks the top 400 of overall prospects in the 2020 class, coming in at No. 370.

Ohio State now has 18 members in its 2020 recruiting class. The Buckeyes still have the No. 1 class in the B1G and the No. 4 class in the nation.
