So far, 2022 has been pretty good to Ohio State. Not only did the Buckeyes take home a Rose Bowl crown in thrilling fashion, they received some great news on the recruiting front.

During Saturday night’s Rose Bowl Game against Utah, Ohio State received a verbal pledge from 4-star safety Cedrick Hawkins. The 5-foot-11, 165-pound defensive back announced his decision with a post on Twitter.

Below is the message Hawkins sent out on Twitter regarding his commitment decision:

Hawkins has received nearly 20 offers as a member of the 2023 recruiting class. The safety commits to Ohio State over Arizona State, Florida, Florida State, Indiana, Kentucky, Miami, Ole Miss, Penn State, Tennessee and others.

According to 247Sports, Hawkins ranks as the No. 20 safety in the 2023 class and comes in at No. 226 nationally. He becomes the third player of the cycle to commit to the Buckeyes.
