Jack Sawyer is part of a bright future for Ohio State at the defensive end position. One of the freshman’s biggest goals for next season is to make sure Michigan doesn’t begin a winning streak vs. Ohio State.

The Wolverines snapped a drought that started in 2011 when they defeated the Buckeyes in the regular season finale. Naturally, Michigan now has some bragging rights and won’t be bashful to remind Ohio State about the loss until next season’s meeting.

Sawyer is boldly making the claim though that Ohio State is looking at this as an aberration, not an indicator of a tide being turned:

The 6-foot-4, 240-pound Sawyer believes that while the loss to the rival was painful, it stirred emotions to produce the necessary self-improvement.

Sawyer amassed nine solo tackles, three sacks, and a forced fumble during his first season at Ohio State. The Buckeyes conclude the season with a matchup vs. Utah in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1.
