Ohio State’s 42-13 rout of Michigan was heard loud and clear.

In the latest Associated Press poll, the Buckeyes climbed back up to No. 6. They were third among six B1G teams that earned spots in the top 25.

Iowa and Michigan State both came in ahead of the Buckeyes at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively. With the loss, Michigan fell to No. 19 while Northwestern moved up to No. 13 and Wisconsin got back into the top-25 at No. 25.

The victory, which marked Ohio State’s largest in Ann Arbor in over 50 years, gave Ohio State an outside shot at the College Football Playoff. That’s because Baylor and Notre Dame both fell over the weekend.

With the B1G Championship winner likely eliminating either Iowa or Michigan State, Ohio State would need Alabama or Clemson to fall. Even then, there’s no guarantee Ohio State would hold off a one-loss North Carolina team if it were to beat Clemson.

As always, stay tuned.
