C.J. Stroud is officially off the board in the 2023 NFL Draft! The former Ohio State star was selected No. 2 overall by the Houston Texans Thursday evening.

Stroud is considered by some to be the best quarterback avaliable in this class. He has the deep ball, athleticism, accuracy and dual threat ability that should translate to the NFL well. Because of that ability Stroud broke a lot of records across his 2 years at the helm of the Ohio State program.

For one, Stroud was a Heisman Trophy finalist in both 2021 and 2022, falling to Bryce Young and Caleb Williams, respectively. He owns the record for the most passing yards in a single game in Ohio State history with a 573-yard performance against Utah in the Rose Bowl.

He’s also the first player in B1G history to throw for 30 or more touchdowns in back-to-back seasons. Stroud finished his college career having thrown 85 touchdowns and just 12 interceptions.

Perhaps the crown jewel of Stroud’s career was the Peach Bowl against Georgia this past season. Stroud finished with 348 yards, 4 touchdowns and 0 interceptions against a Georgia defense that was stocked to the brim with NFL talent.
