Cade Stover appears to be playing through a knee injury in Ohio State’s top 10 battle with Penn State on Saturday.

Stover is wearing a new brace on his right knee, per the broadcast. He’s remaining in the game for now, but this appears to be a new injury for the Buckeyes’ star tight end.

Stover caught 1 pass for 2 yards in the first quarter against the Nittany Lions.

Stover is a major part of Ohio State’s offense. If he’s limited in any capacity against Penn State’s vaunted defense, it could be significant. So far this season, Stover has caught 23 passes for 359 yards and 3 touchdowns. He is on pace to set new career-highs in each of those categories this season.

Last year against the Nittany Lions, Stover had arguably his best game of the season. He caught 6 passes for 78 yards and a touchdown in that road victory. That was Stover’s season-high in receptions and only five yards away from his season high in yardage.

Ohio State is looking to win its seventh straight game vs. Penn State. Perhaps more importantly, a victory would put Ohio State into the driver’s seat in the race for the Big Ten East title.
