In a recent interview with CBS, Freeman discussed the type of player Notre Dame is looking for as a football program. He pointed toward players who value the Notre Dame academic degree while also taking a shot at Ohio State in the process.
Those comments quickly made the rounds with some former Buckeyes responding. Gareon Conley – a defensive back at Ohio State from 2014-16 – refuted some of Freeman’s comments while saying he was “scared” to miss class.
Yeah idk what he talking bout I was scared as hell to miss class or tutoring I ain’t tryna get no dawn patrol lol we had mfs checking class before and after https://t.co/4biAKYFPPw

Cardale Jones – former QB who helped lead Ohio State to the 2014 national championship – also chimed in. However, Jones’ response was humorous in nature.
Yea man, we always went to class……. (speaking for everyone else) 😂 https://t.co/Cc9bPsI1zr
