Carnell Tate, 5-star WR and Ohio State target for 2023, reveals commitment
Carnell Tate – one of the top receivers and one of the top overall prospects for the class of 2023 – revealed his commitment Monday afternoon.
A key target for Ohio State, Tate had previously put the Buckeyes in a final four group that included Notre Dame, Tennessee and LSU. When it came decision time, Tate went with the Buckeyes giving Ryan Day, Brian Hartline and the offensive staff another elite receiver to build around

Tate is listed at 6-foot-2 and 185 lbs. and is a 5-star prospect, according to the 247 Sports Composite Rankings. He is also the No. 3 WR nationally and No. 28 overall player in the country regardless of position.
Prior to Tate’s commitment, Ohio State already held the No. 8 recruiting class in the nation, and that ranking is sure to rise with the addition of a player of Tate’s elite caliber. Tate is the 2nd receiver to pledge the Buckeyes for the cycle, joining 4-star WR Bryson Rodgers out of Florida.
