Ohio State, Tennessee and Notre Dame have been the top contenders to land Tate. Tate’s top 5 shared on March 15 included Alabama and Georgia, but not LSU. Of the 4 finalists, Tate only used official visits at Tennessee and LSU. When all visits, including unofficial visits, are tallied, Notre Dame (7 visits) and Ohio State (6 visits) lead the way.

Tate, from Chicago, began his career at Marist High School. He transferred to the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida ahead of his junior season. Tate is listed at 6-2, 185 pounds and rated 5-stars, the No. 3 wide receiver, No. 7 Sunshine State recruit and No. 28 prospect overall nationally in the class of 2023 on the 247Sports Composite.
