Chase Young is looking to make an impact in the second game of the NFL season, but he was flagged for one insane roughing the penalty call early in the action.

The penalty came as the New  York Giants were facing a 2nd-and-12 deep in Washington’s territory. Young easily beat a double team on the pass-rush and got home to quarterback Daniel Jones.

Young was not late with his hit, getting to Jones just as he released the ball. Even more frustrating, Young’s hit was in the correct target zone for hitting QBs.

The penalty? It was for how Young fell on Jones at the end of his hit.

Take a look:

Rules analyst Mike Pereira weighed in, saying that  Young’s hit was “exactly what they (NFL) want called.” That might be the case, but it is still hard to see what else Young is supposed to do on that play.
