Back in Nov. of 2021, Young tore his ACL and also ruptured his patella. He’s had a long recovery due to the procedure of adding a graft from the tendon in his right knee to repair his left knee, per Charean Williams of ProFootballTalk. It’s been quite a long waiting process for Young as he’s been antsy to get back on the field, but recovery was number one.

“I wish it was a faster process, but it is what it is,” Young said, via video from Ben Standing of The Athletic“. . . Just being patient. Got to be patient.”
And patient he was, as he will officially be fully padded up for the Commanders on Saturday as they face off against the 49ers at 4:05 p.m. ET.
