Chase Young is full of confidence. The star defensive end has often talked about how he wants to be one of the best to ever play the game.

On Thursday night, Young’s dream of becoming an NFL player will become a reality. The former Ohio State star is projected to be the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft, and many believe he’s the top prospect in this year’s class. He has the potential to make an immediate impact on the field at the next level, and that’s exactly what Young plans to do.

Speaking with Reggie Bush of FOX Sports recently, Young was asked what fans should expect to see during his rookie year in the NFL. His answer was, as you can imagine, a confident one.

“You’re gonna expect a dude who’s hungry. A dude who, you know, is gonna fit in with everybody else,” Young said. “I’m not going there to look like a rookie. I’m going there and I feel like I’m a pro at what I do. I feel like I display that off the field, just watching film, with my diet, extra work after practice. I feel like I do all those.

“I feel like I’m going to go on the field and dominate because that’s the type of player that I want to be and that’s what I’m gonna try to do to the best of my ability.”

Young never had much trouble exerting his dominance on the field at the college level in 2019. The Heisman Trophy finalist piled up 16.5 sacks, 46 total tackles and six forced fumbles in his final year with the Buckeyes.

He became known as a game wrecker and the best defensive player in the game. It should be a lot of fun to say how his skill set translates to the next level.
