Injuries have really been the story in the NFL this week. With a strange shift in offseason workout plans and a lack of preseason games this season, it could be the story all year long.
Sunday, one of the games youngest but brightest stars was bit by the injury bug. Washington defensive end Chase Young was forced to leave the team’s matchup against the Cleveland Browns early. It’s just the third game of his NFL career.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported the news.

Young left the game and was taken back to the locker room. After further examination, he was ruled out for the remainder of the contest with a groin injury.
Through the first two games of the season, Young had totaled 8 tackles, 2.5 sacks and forced a fumble. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft was off to a strong start in his professional career. It’s unclear how severe the injury might be or how long it could sideline the rookie.
Young left the game before recording any statistics. Washington is 1-1 on the season.
