Young becomes the third-straight player from the B1G to be taken with the No. 2 overall pick in the NFL Draft. In 2018, the New York Giants selected Penn State running back Saquon Barkley. Nick Bosa, Young’s former teammate on the defensive line in Columbus, was taken by the San Francisco 49ers with the No. 2 selection last year.

During his final year at Ohio State, Young became a monster on the defensive side of the football. Not only did he put up huge numbers, he drew double- and triple-teams from offensive linemen throughout the season, making life easier for his teammates. The result was OSU bumping up to own one of the nation’s top defenses in college football.

Young totaled 46 stops, 21 tackles for loss, 16.5 sacks, six forced fumbles, three pass break-ups and a blocked field goal in 12 games with the Buckeyes last fall. Ohio State ended the year with a 13-1 record, winning a third-straight B1G title and making an appearance in the College Football Playoff.

Though he was taken No. 2 behind LSU quarterback Joe Burrow, many believe Young is the most talented prospect from this year’s NFL Draft class.
