Chip Trayanum leaves Purdue game after massive hit
Chip Trayanum has left Ohio State’s game vs. Purdue after sustaining a massive hit. The running back lowered his head and then had to be helped off the field.
The Buckeyes are already without TreVeyon Henderson and Miyan Williams, the top 2 running backs on the depth chart. After taking the hard hit, it’s fair to wonder if Trayanum will be able to return against Purdue.

Dallan Hayden came in for Trayanum. Xavier Johnson typically plays receiver, but can also line up in the backfield.
Trayanum has received the most carries for the Buckeyes in 2023 with 45. The back collected 207 yards and 3 TDs heading into the matchup with Purdue. Hayden has 2 carries in relief of Trayanum on Saturday, which were his first 2 carries of the season.
Leading rusher TreVeyon Henderson has been out since the Notre Dame game. Henderson was listed as a game-time decision for the Purdue game due to the undisclosed injury.
The Buckeyes’ passing attack is also short-handed against Purdue. Star receiver Emeka Egbuka is also out with an injury against the Boilermakers.
In the 2nd quarter, the Buckeyes have a 13-0 lead over the Boilermakers. It remains to be seen if Trayanum will return to the game.
