Chip Trayanum broke off a monster touchdown run at Ohio State’s annual spring game Saturday. The senior running back bounced right and did the rest with his legs, galloping around 65 yards for the score.

So far, it’s Ohio State’s offenses’ most explosive play of the game.

Trayanum is an underrated part of Ohio State’s uber-talented RB room. Miyan Williams and TreVeyon Henderson are back, though Henderson is not suited up for Ohio State’s scrimmage Saturday.

None of them are truly “elite” running backs as of right now, but all 3 have the talent to break off a big game any given Saturday come next fall. That’s dangerous for an offense with a passing threat such as Marvin Harrison Jr. and a litany of other talents at wideout. Oh, and we didn’t even mention Dallan Hayden, who will also back up a strong RB room next fall after showing some serious promise at the end of last season.

Trayanum did not play much last season for the Buckeyes, rushing for just 92 yards and a touchdown behind the likes of Williams and Henderson. An interesting storyline to follow this season will be how healthy the OSU RB room can stay, with both Williams and Henderson running into injury problems in 2022.
