Chris Holtmann addressed Isaac Likekele’s absence during Ohio State’s B1G opener against Rutgers at Monday’s presser. The Oklahoma State transfer missed the game due to a family matter.
Likekele is averaging 4.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 3.1 assists for the Buckeyes after playing in eight games this season. Likekele played in 114 games for the Cowboys during his time there.
Holtmann stated that Likekele is still going through some things in regards to the family matter that caused the Buckeye G to miss the Rutgers game. Likekele is currently with some close friends and family in Texas. Holtmann expects Likekele to be back at some point, but there is no confirmation yet.
“We expect his return here at some point, but no specific timeline right now,” said Holtmann.

Hopefully Likekele will be back on the court for Ohio State sometime soon. The Buckeyes are going to need all the help they can get with North Carolina up next on Dec. 17. Tipoff will be at 3 p.m. ET with the game being televised on CBS.
