The Buckeyes have been on the doorstep of greatness a few times in the past few years, but are instead viewed as the team that got ousted in the first round by Oral Roberts as a No. 2 seed.
The future is here for Holtmann, though. The 6th-year Ohio State coach told media Monday that 4 freshmen will play this season: Roddy Gayle Jr, Bruce Thornton, Felix Okpara and Brice Sensabaugh were all named as candidates for minutes come November.
Holtmann says “we have four freshmen that are all going to play. Bruce, Roddy, Brice and Felix are all capable of helping this team and playing. All four are gonna play.”
“We’re excited about the potential of that group, for sure.”
