Kyle Young is making progress and is closer to a return to the floor, but the Ohio State starting forward is still day-to-day, according to head coach Chris Holtmann.

On Wednesday, Holtmann provided the update on Young, who has missed the last two games with what Holtmann described as a “significant sprain” in his ankle, according to Colin Hass-Hill of Eleven Warriors. Young’s progress has been described as “incremental.”

Young last played on Sunday, Feb. 23 against Maryland. The Buckeyes defeated the Terrapins 79-72 in Columbus. Ohio State has two games left this season, hosting Illinois on Thursday before closing out the year on the road against Michigan State.

The Buckeyes have won three-straight games to improve to 10-8 in B1G play and 20-9 overall on the season.

Young is averaging 7.5 points and 5.8 rebounds per contest, while shooting over 58 percent from the floor on the season.
