Chris Olave has had to deal with injuries throughout his NFL career, but he suffered a serious injury on Sunday after being hit hard by a defender during the Carolina Panthers and New Orleans Saints game.

Early in the first quarter, Derek Carr overthrew Olave on a pass over the middle of the field. Panthers defensive back Xavier Woods delivered the punishing hit. Olave was on the ground motionless on the field right after the play as players from both teams took a knee. He was taken off the field on a stretcher, but recently posted on social media that he is doing alright.

The Saints released a statement on X saying that Olave had been discharged from the hospital and would be traveling with the team back to New Orleans tonight.

Injuries have been an issue for Olave throughout his career, and concussions have been a big part of those injuries. He had suffered 3 concussions entering the game on Sunday, but that number is now 4 after he was diagnosed with 1 on the play on Sunday.

Olave is a part of the Ohio State great run of receivers in the NFL in the past few years. He played in Columbus in from 2018-2021, and he finished his Ohio State career with 176 catches, 2,711 yards and 35 touchdowns.
