CJ Stroud’s Ohio State playing days are over, but he’s doing what he can to help the Buckeyes.

Ohio State NIL collective “THE Foundation” announced Monday that Stroud is the first former student-athlete partner to become a “major donor.”

Stroud was a Buckeye for three seasons, playing primarily in 2021 and ’22. He threw for over 8,000 yards and 85 touchdowns in a decorated Ohio State career, posting a 21-4 record as a starter in 25 games.

Stroud rewrote the record books during his OSU career, setting 16 Ohio State passing and total offense records and an additional three Big Ten records. He also set five Rose Bowl records for his legendary outing against Utah. Stroud was a two-time Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and two-time Heisman Trophy finalist.

It came as no surprise to Ohio State fans that Stroud had the biggest impact of the 2023 QB class. Stroud made a strong case for Rookie of the Year, becoming just the third quarterback to lead the league in passing yards per game (273.9) and touchdown-to-interception ratio (23-5).

In his first taste of the NFL playoffs, Stroud was 35-of-54 for 449 yards and 3 touchdowns with no interceptions. The Houston Texans went 1-1, falling to the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Division round.
