CJ Stroud put on an impressive showing at his pro day in Columbus on Wednesday.

By all accounts, the potential No. 1 overall pick helped himself with his performance in front of numerous NFL executives.

After it was over, Stroud sat down to talk with NFL Network’s David Carr about the experience.

“It felt good,” Stroud said. “Of course you want some throws back, those are the ones that I think about. But I thought it came out of my hand well. I thought I just stamped what I know I can do on the field.”

Stroud is currently the betting favorite to go No. 1 overall in April’s draft, according to DraftKings. He’s been the betting favorite since the Carolina Panthers traded for the top pick earlier this month.

Carr also asked Stroud about his feelings about the Panthers ahead of the draft.

“I appreciate them coming out and spending time with me,” Stroud said. “It definitely meant a lot. I definitely had a great conversation. We didn’t talk Xs and Os. It was really talking about not only just who I was as a person but my faith and some of the things I want to do … off the field that I want to continue to do to help other people.

“They’re really on board with everything and we’ll see what happens, man. It’s not in my control.”

Here’s video of his full interview with Carr:

The 2023 NFL Draft will be held from April 27-29 in Kansas City.
