CJ Stroud has been putting together a fantastic rookie season for the Houston Texans. Unfortunately, Houston’s offense has been banged up against the New York Jets, and Stroud himself sustained an apparent injury in Sunday’s game.

Already playing without key offensive pieces Tank Dell, Nico Collins and Dalton Schultz, Stroud was hit after throwing one pass and driven hard into the ground. Stroud was originally hit in the midsection after delivering a pass, but it was his head slamming hard into the ground that is a cause for concern.

Stroud remained on the ground in visible pain while the training staff ran out to check on his condition. Davis Mills quickly warmed up and was inserted into the game in the place of Stroud late in the fourth quarter.

Stroud and the Houston offense were struggling on the road without the key contributors on offense. However, the bigger concern moving forward is the health of Stroud.

The Texans will fall to 7-6 with a loss and are chasing Jacksonville who entered Sunday with an 8-4 record.
