Stroud has already been announced as the Week 1 starter for Houston after winning the quarterback battle in training camp and the preseason. The Texans selected the QB with the No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft.
Shortly after being selected by Houston, Stroud explained he was looking forward to learning how to lead at the NFL level. In fact, becoming a leader for the franchise was one of Stroud’s primary goals as a rookie:
“Honestly, first and foremost I just want to be — if it comes naturally — is to be a leader on the team,” said Stroud . “I think that’s the biggest thing for playing QB is not only to be vocal but lead by example. That’s something I think I bring to the table very well because of Ohio State.”
We’ll see how Stroud fares to begin his NFL career, but he is already leaving a positive mark with Houston.
