CJ Stroud has had the fortunate opportunity to throw to several high-caliber receivers at Ohio State. Stroud was interviewed by Howard Griffith on the B1G Show in the bus tour to Columbus segment and was asked about the number of impact players Stroud has at his disposal.

“When you break out of the huddle, you look to the right and to the left and you look at the slot,” said BTN’s Howard Griffith. “An embarrassment of riches when you look at the WR room and even at tight end. What kind of comfort does that give you?”

Stroud confirmed Griffith’s assessment, indicating Ohio State’s “got dogs” offensively.

“Like you said it man, you go out left and right, you’ve got dogs,” said Stroud. “It’s definitely a positive for me and my confidence. I feel like whenever I throw the ball to someone they’ll go up and get, so just comfortable playing.”

Last season, Stroud had three high-caliber receivers in Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Garrett Wilson and Chris Olave who accumulated 230 receptions for 3,600 yards and 34 touchdowns. Wilson and Olave became first-round picks in the 2022 NFL Draft.

Smith-Njigba accounted for 1,259 receiving yards last season, 11th most in the nation as he returns as a junior to Ohio State. He’ll be joined by the likes of Julian Fleming, Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka in 2022, a slew of highly-touted prospects looking to breakout this season.
