CJ Stroud receives disappointing update in return from concussion, per report
CJ Stroud has been a dynamic performer for the Houston Texans and arguably the top rookie in the entire NFL. Unfortunately, he sustained a concussion late in the loss to the New York Jets and missed the most recent game.
Even more unfortunate, Stroud is expected to miss a second straight game this week. According to DJ Bien-Aime with ESPN, Stroud is expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Cleveland Browns.
“He should miss another game,” Bien-Aime said of one source from Tuesday. The Texans will continue to monitor Stroud throughout the week before a final decision, but the fact he remains in concussion protocol puts him as unlikely to play.

Stroud started Houston’s first 13 games of the season while completing 62.4% of his passes for 20 touchdowns and 3,631 yards. He was off to a particularly hot start for a rookie seeing his first NFL action while the Texans went 7-6 in his starts.
Houston’s Case Keenum filled in for Stroud this past week and helped deliver an overtime victory over the Tennessee Titans. With 3 weeks to go in the regular season, Houston is 8-6 and tied with the Indianapolis Colts and the Jacksonville Jaguars for the lead in the AFC South.
Hopefully, Stroud is able to return down the stretch in a pivotal race for the playoffs.
