CJ Stroud uses humorous explanation when highlighting challenges of season openers

C.J. Stroud spoke about how Week 1 games usually go. His hilarious comments were posted on Twitter by Chase Brown of Eleven Warriors.
While a lot of people will say that Week 1 games should be easy for schools like Ohio State, Stroud thinks that it’s not as easy as it looks.
“It was amazing,” said Stroud. “Great win. The first game of the season is never really easy. I feel. Unless they’re like total bums.”

He said Notre Dame – a top-five team at the time – did not, in fact, have “bums.”

Stroud went on to clarify that he was not talking about Notre Dame. He was most likely talking about playing FCS schools. Most schools like Ohio State will try to play those types of teams early on in the season before starting conference schedules.
Playing a team like Notre Dame this early in the season may do Ohio State some good in the long run. The Buckeyes next 2 games before conference play starts are Arkansas State (Sept. 10) and Toledo (Sept. 17).
