Ohio State’s Class of 2017 just received a commitment earlier this afternoon from four-star linebacker Pete Werner.

That good news wasn’t enough, apparently.

Another Class of 2017 commit for the Buckeyes, four-star dual-threat quarterback Tate Martell, tweeted out to #BuckeyeNation about what’s to come for what is currently ranked as the No. 2 class in the country according to 247 Sports:

As it stands now, the Buckeyes only trail Alabama for the top class next season, and that gap is very narrow. Ohio State currently has six different five-star recruits committed for 2017.

According to Martell, it seems like it won’t be long before Ohio State sits at No. 1. As per 247 Sports, the Buckeyes are targeting five more five-star recruits for its class.

If the lone B1G representative in the College Football Playoff gets any of these five, Martell’s prediction may come true.

Five-star recruits in the Class of 2017 Ohio State is currently targeting via 247 Sports:

RB Cam Akers – No. 4 Overall Player
CB Jeffrey Okudah – No. 7 Overall Player
