Clutch moment: C.J. Stroud’s 1st TD pass comes in big-time moment for Ohio State

Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud is following in the footsteps of Justin Fields. While it remains to be seen if he can reach the level of the Chicago Bears’ first round pick, the redshirt freshman is already making impactful plays in his first start.
Ohio State trailed host Minnesota 14-10 at halftime but took the lead on the opening drive of the third quarter when Stroud connected with Chris Olave for a 38-yard touchdown.

That’s the first of what Ohio State fans hope will be many touchdown passes this season.
Stroud arrived at Ohio State as a five-star quarterback, the nation’s No. 2 pro-style quarterback, No. 4 overall prospect in California and No. 29 recruit in the nation, according to 247Sports.
Ohio State leads the all-time series 45-7 vs Minnesota and is on a 10-game winning streak in the series.
