It is just about time for an epic Saturday of College Football Playoff action!
After an action-packed season and weeks of preparation and chatter, it is now time to tee it up and decide the CFP on the field! Of the two semifinal games, the Peach Bowl in Atlanta will kick first, but both are expected to be epic.
In the Peach Bowl, LSU is widely expected to roll as the No. 1 seed. The Tigers enter as -13.5 favorites over Oklahoma, but they should be careful as No. 1 seeds are just 3-2 in five CFP Semifinal games.
In the Fiesta Bowl, the game is expected to be much closer and one of the best since the inception of the CFP. Clemson enters as a -2 favorite. However, Ohio State is the No. 2 seed, and No. 2 seeds are 4-1 all-time in the semifinals.
Here is how ESPN’s GameDay crew picked the CFP matchups:
Desmond Howard: LSU (over Oklahoma), Clemson (over Ohio State)
Lee Corso: LSU (over Oklahoma), Ohio State (over Clemson)
Kirk Herbstreit: LSU (over Oklahoma), Did not pick Fiest Bowl as he will be calling the game.
Chris “Bear” Fallica: Clemson outright and -2
Jesse Palmer: LSU (over Oklahoma), Clemson (over Ohio State)
Joey Galloway: LSU (over Oklahoma), Ohio State (over Clemson)
David Pollack: Ohio State (over Clemson)
Jonathan Vilma: Clemson (over Ohio State)
Mark Sanchez: Clemson (over Ohio State)
