Sports can really break your heart sometimes with losses and other things. But it can also bring great moments, like what we saw out of Columbus on Monday.

The team announced its captains for this season recently. One of them is Buckeye linebacker, Teradja Mitchell. After being told the news, he and Ohio State linebackers coach Al Washington called Mitchell’s family to inform them about Mitchell’s captaincy. Fortunate for our sake, the Buckeyes’ Twitter account got the moment on camera, and it is a cool one.

Wasn’t that nice? With everything happening that is negative, we love to see a positive.

Mitchell, a senior linebacker from Virginia Beach, Virginia, is one of six captains for this year’s team. Besides taking on more of a leadership role, he’s set to take on a more significant playing role.

After coming to Ohio State as a four-star recruit, his first three years were mostly spent on special teams. He has played 28 games in three years and has registered 15 tackles in an Ohio State uniform. This season, he will likely be used most as a weakside linebacker as part of the Buckeyes’ defensive unit.
