The matchup between No. 2 Ohio State and No. 3 Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl is a must-watch matchup this postseason. But it’s not only labeled that way by fans and media, Dabo Swinney also understands how evenly matched both teams are this season.
Swinney met with the media on Monday to preview the contest on Saturday, as Clemson and Ohio State battle for a spot in the national championship on Jan. 13.
Swinney was asked about a recent meeting with Ohio State head coach Ryan Day, and the Clemson leader called Day a “genuine guy,” and that he enjoyed getting to know Day.
Reporters also asked Swinney about the matchup between Ohio State’s defensive line and Clemson’s offensive line. He called that a “must watch” matchup in the Fiesta Bowl.
“It’s must-see TV,” Swinney said, according to Dan Hope of Eleven Warriors. “Our strength is our offensive line, and their strength is their defensive line.”
Both Clemson and Ohio State ranked in the top five nationally in offense and defense, and both ended the season 13-0. It’s one of the most anticipated matchups of the college football bowl season.
The two teams will collide on Saturday, Dec. 28 at 8 p.m. ET.
