Danny Kanell blasts Ohio State, idea of letting Buckeyes 'back their way' into CFP

Danny Kanell was not a happy camper after Utah beat USC in the Pac-12 Championship game. Kanell went on an anti-Ohio State tirade on social media.

The main problem Kanell has with the scenario is teams like Ohio State can back door their way into the College Football Playoff. While Kanell disagreed with the idea, he understands that Ohio State should get in over Alabama.

The Utes beat the Trojans 47-24 at Allegiant Stadium on Friday. USC’s College Football Playoff chances are out the window now.

Ohio State’s resume will go up against Alabama’s now as the Playoff committee will need to make a decision. Kanell thought of an interesting way to decide what team should get into the game. He thinks that a play-in game should happen between them to decide.

The committee might not care what Kanell thinks unfortunately. Here are the tweets from Kanell:

I hate seeing teams backdoor their way into the playoffs. But if it’s for the 4th spot this year it is pretty clear it’s Ohio State over Bama.

I can’t stand watching teams get byes into the playoffs that don’t deserve them. Ohio State might end up winning it all. But they didn’t deserve that chance. And they absolutely shouldn’t of been given a free pass.
