Davison Igbinosun has not produced a smooth 2024 season for Ohio State. But when the Buckeyes needed him the most, he delivered in the Week 10 win over Penn State.

Facing a tough matchup on the road, Igbinosun 4 total tackles and a pass breakup. But his biggest play of the game came with an interception in the end zone, keeping Penn State off the board ahead of halftime.

Collectively, Igbinosun and the defense kept Penn State out of the end zone, including twice when the Nittany Lions had a 1st-and-goal situation. The star cornerback was already named 1 of 2 Defensive Players of the Game for Ohio State, and Igbinosun added to his award haul this week.

Igbinosun was awarded the Bronko Nagurski National Defensive Player of the Week honor for Week 10:

It’s a fairly drastic turnaround for Igbinosun after a string of penalties in recent games. He also had an early penalty and gave up a big connection against the Nittany Lions but bounced back with his play in the red zone.

Recently, Jim Knowles said Ohio State was working on Igbinosun’s tendency to grab, putting the cornerback in gloves last week. For now, it looks like that adjustment worked, and Igbinosun continues to show his elite ball skills in the secondary.
