Davison Igbinosun should be ready for just about any matchup he draws this fall. The Ohio State newcomer told reporters Thursday that he holds his own with Marvin Harrison Jr.
“I can check Marvin,” Igbinosun said during his Thursday media session. “He’s the best receiver in the county… but me and him go at it.”
And when they go at it, Igbinosun said he and Harrison have split one-on-one matchup wins
“It’s 50-50,” the 6-2, 190-pound transfer cornerback said.
Practicing against Harrison will have Igbinosun for any and every opposing wideout.
“I feel like going against him makes everybody else easier,” Igbinosun said.
Igbinosun joined the Buckeyes after beginning his career at Ole Miss. He took part in OSU’s spring practice.
With the Rebels, Igbinosun played in all 13 games and started 10 times at cornerback as a true freshman. He recorded 37 total tackles and 5 pass breakups, earning Freshman All-American recognition from College Football News. Out of Union (New Jersey), Igbinosun was rated 4-stars, the No. 21 cornerback and No. 162 prospect in the Class of 2022 on the 247Sports Composite.
