Dawand Jones had a dominant preseason for the Cleveland Browns. The former Ohio State Buckeye allowed zero sacks in 148 pass-blocking snaps and allowed 1 QB hit. Jones played the most snaps without allowing a sack in the entire NFL this preseason.

Jones was initially thought of as a late first-round or second-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. The massive tackle instead fell to the 4th round where he was selected by the Cleveland Browns.

The Browns already have 2 elite starting tackles in Jack Conklin and Jedrick Wills Jr., so Jones will likely be relegated to a reserve role as a rookie. However, the Browns now know that Jones is more than capable of filling in if needed.

As a senior at Ohio State in 2022, Jones did not allow a single sack over 693 snaps. Listed at 6-foot-8 and 375 pounds, Jones was widely regarded for his raw potential in this draft class.
