Ohio State’s loaded 2017 class just got even more loaded.

The Buckeyes landed a commitment from four-star Texas running back J.K. Dobbins.

He’s ranked as the fourth-best all-purpose back and the 62nd player overall in the 2017 class. He had offers from Baylor, Texas, TCU, Oklahoma and others, but went out of Big 12 country.

Dobbins committed to Ohio State even though he’s never visited the campus. Still, the relationship he developed with the coaching staff outweighed the unfamiliarity of the campus.

“The staff and how much attention I got, it’s crazy,” Dobbins told cleveland.com. “The fact that the whole stuff was talking to me, that was what made me realize those guys really wanted me. Not many schools do that.

“And the way they say things, it got me.”

Ohio State currently has the No. 1 ranked 2017 class. Dobbins is Urban Meyer’s first Texas recruit since Demetrius Knox in 2014.
