Donovan Munger has passed away at 30 years old, according to a family statement.

The former Ohio State defensive lineman was a member of the Buckeyes’ national title team in 2014. No cause of death was shared.

“My heart will never beat the same. It is with my deepest sadness that I formally announce to the world the passing of my eldest child Donovan Munger. Pray for my family.”

Munger played for Ohio State from 2013-15 but his career was cut short due to a pulmonary embolism. That medical issue also caused him to take a redshirt year during his freshman season in 2013.

Munger arrived at Ohio State after a standout career at Shaker Heights High School in Ohio. He was a consensus 4-star prospect coming out of high school in the class of 2013.

He recorded 5 tackles and 1 tackle for loss during Ohio State’s National Championship campaign back in 2014. His final game with the Buckeyes was a 44-28 win over Notre Dame in the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 1, 2016.
