Down 14 to Wisconsin, Ohio State runs a fake punt that works to perfection
Ohio State lost the coin toss in the Big Ten Championship Game to Wisconsin. That wasn’t it, though.
The Badgers went right down the field and scored, making it 7-0. Then, the Badgers scored again. It was 14-0 and Ohio State didn’t score in the first quarter.
Midway through the second quarter, the Buckeyes still weren’t on the scoreboard. They faced a fourth-and-nine situation on their own 26-yard-line and what did they do?
They ran a fake punt.
It worked perfectly:

Punter Drue Chrisman delivered a perfect ball to Luke Farrell for a 21-yard gain that sparked life in Ohio State. Unfortunately for the Buckeyes, they drove down the field and quarterback Justin Fields fumbled the ball on a third-and-goal scenario.
Wisconsin still leads 14-0 late in the second quarter. The game is being televised on FOX.
