On the season, Jones has recorded 31 total tackles and 5.5 sacks. 19 of those tackles were solo tackles. With linebacker Bradley Chubb no longer on the team following Tuesday’s trade with the Miami Dolphins, Jones is now the team’s sack leader. Jones and Chubb were tied for sacks prior to the trade.
The trade will reveal the need for Jones to step into a role as one of the defensive leaders on the Broncos. Jones, a former Ohio State standout, was drafted by the Broncos in the 3rd round of the 2019 NFL Draft. He has 21 sacks and 110 total tackles in his 4-year career.
The Broncos will be on a bye week in Week 9 and will return against the Tennessee Titans on Nov. 13.
